Celebrating academic freedom which is intertwined with the First Amendment right to freedom of speech, Academics for Academic Freedom at UNK present Speaker’s Corner. Come to Cope Fountain and take a few minutes to exercise your right to free speech by stepping onto the soapbox and sharing your views.
Speaker’s Corner was first introduced in Hype Park in London, UK in 1872 as a place where people could come and share their views on any topic they wanted to speak on. The tradition of Speaker’s Corner continues in Hyde Park and many other places.
