The University of Nebraska at Kearney offers more than 30 graduate programs and 50+ program options to help students reach their academic and career goals. The Graduate Admissions team is here to help you with each step in your journey through graduate school, from application to graduation.
Applicants seeking to pursue a graduate degree at UNK may be admitted conditionally or unconditionally, depending on what admission criteria they are able to meet. Criteria for UNK’s graduate school can be found in the admissions section of the graduate catalog. Students must also meet the admission criteria and submit the proper application pieces for the specific degree program they wish to pursue. To view program admission criteria, find the program housed under the corresponding department in the graduate catalog.
A non-degree student is defined as any student that is not admitted into a master's or specialist degree program. Non-degree applicants can be admitted into two categories: financial aid eligible plans and non-aid eligible plans. Applicants seeking additional teaching endorsements, initial certification or the Transitional Certification Program (TCP) are aid eligible. Those applicants seeking certificate programs, taking courses for personal enrichment, taking pre-requisite courses to be eligible for admission into a degree program, etc. are not eligible for financial aid. Learn more about non-degree admission in the graduate catalog.
